Repeat Handblock Printing using Shaped Blocks
Print your own fabric and paper by designing your own collection of shaped lino blocks! Create these blocks using positive/negative designs and learn to plan, cut and shape them for continuous block printing.
Over the weekend, you will be able to work from your own ideas or be guided through the steps of composition, image making and colour combining. There will be lots of scope for getting creative, for handblocking onto fabrics, gift wrap and wallpaper, making fat quarters and sharing ideas.
You will be supplied with lino, fabric inks and small lengths of wall and wrapping paper.
Come and learn the intricate art of bobbin lace making. Traditionally bobbin lace making was used to decorate fashion for the aristocracy of Europe from the 16th Century, later to become a form of currency worth more than gold.
Nowadays, lace can be made from all sorts of fibres including wire, crazy yarns and paper. Vicki teaches bobbin lace making in a contemporary and accessible way. This workshop will teach you some of the basics and will open your eyes to the possibilities of this intriguing art form.
