Kirsten Ingemar: Explorations with plant dyeing and leaf imprints

Kirsten Ingemar’s workshop was exciting. Students used a variety of plants from Vicki’s garden and farm to create a broad range of colours and imprints on fabric and paper. Exotic leaves – from different Oaks and a Walnut gave striking greens and browns, whereas Eucalyptus gave purples and oranges. Students also tried some Shibori techniques of folding and clamping to get great patterns in their dyed fabrics.
