Christine Thompson: Winter Hat Making Workshop 11-12th August

$280.00 $240.00

Come and learn to make a winter hat from one of Australia’s top milliners. Christine has worked for years with Opera Australia and others making costume hats. She has a studio in the Blue Mountains where she makes custom hats to order. We are lucky to have her up our way again.

This workshop will cover pattern making for cloches and baker boy caps. Students will then have the choice for which hat they make up during the weekend.

Description

Come and learn to make a winter hat from one of Australia’s top milliners. Christine has worked for years with Opera Australia and others making costume hats. She has a studio in the Blue Mountains where she makes custom hats to order. We are lucky to have her up our way again.

In this workshop participants are shown how to design and draft a cloche hat and a Baker Boy (sectional) cap. Using traditional millinery techniques participants start off learning how to measure for a perfect fit and then go on to learn how to draft their own patterns for these two beautifully warm winter styles.

Participants will then choose which style to construct on the second day.
