Work with a professional craftsman to design and make a small leather bag, clutch or book cover. Be introduced to the techniques of working with leather. Explore types of leather and the tools available. Consider approaches to design when utilising the basic patterns provided.

What to Bring:
-­‐Your own good sewing machine (of any age) suitable for sewing light leather with appropriate leather needles and
threads. This workshop is also applicable for those who prefer a hand sewn finish or any alternative closure e.g. rivets.
-­‐Birch cutting mat, or similar.
-­‐Steel rule and measuring tape.
-­‐28mm roller knife and good scissors; Mundial or similar.
-­‐Optional items include any leather working tools you may have.
Silver marking pen, small appropriate hammer punches either wheel punch or hand.
-­‐Please bring any suitable leather or other material, or embellishment you have.
(The tutor will bring a selection of fine skins of good quality and interesting finishes and effects,
available to purchase at a very reasonable cost. Mark will also have small supplies of other items
such as roller knives and blades, scissors, buckles, straps and fittings etc.).
Materials fee: Approximately $50 per person, fee payable to the tutor in class for the chosen leather
